The Primestream solution with FORK Master Control Playout Automation provides high-end mission-critical ON-Air operation of TV networks, satellite, Internet and mobile. Accepting schedules from traffic systems or generating one via the FORK interface, this software subsystem handles executing schedules on-air. This involves precision and coordination control of many pieces of equipment as well as graphics software systems.

Station Automation & Playout
New Media Output Integration uses FORK’s transcoding management, render-farm management, transfer manager, and a specialized sub-system called “Packager” as tools to produce elegant end-to-end software for media management that simultaneously produces numerous new media outputs in addition to on-air digital formats. These include streaming media in many flavors and 3G mobile phone files.
Additional features included are programmatic delivery of media files along with selected and specially formatted metadata for automated output to Apple’s iTunes, YouTube, as well as to internal and external web sites and mobile media sites.
Other applications include Reality TV Software. Pioneered for Endemol’s Big Brother show and used in many countries, this system manages the camera-robotics, ingest, and media logging of several streams of video. This system has been used in numerous reality TV shows.
Primestream also offers professional services to broadcast customers and governmental media organizations with an eye to optimizing how they can use this innovative tool-set to automate and make more productive the media output on air, on-line, on-phones and video on-demand.
The Archive Interface is the integration of FORK’s metadata-driven media management with the Atempo Time Navigator middleware. It sends content from FORK into the near line archival robot and returns the content from the archive, as well as through XML scripts that facilitate video search in low-resolution proxy.

Working via the Archive Interface, edits can be performed at low resolution from any editing station in the network. Once the QuickTime pointers “to pull” are marked, the full resolution content is updated and automatically transferred into Final Cut.
